 {"id":23524,"date":"2023-10-25T16:14:08","date_gmt":"2023-10-25T16:14:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zinebi.eus\/en\/news\/zinebi-reune-a-katixa-agirre-david-perez-sanudo-asier-altuna-y-txani-rodriguez-para-dialogar-sobre-cine-y-literatura-vasca"},"modified":"2023-10-25T16:35:32","modified_gmt":"2023-10-25T16:35:32","slug":"zinebi-reune-a-katixa-agirre-david-perez-sanudo-asier-altuna-y-txani-rodriguez-para-dialogar-sobre-cine-y-literatura-vasca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zinebi.eus\/en\/news\/zinebi-reune-a-katixa-agirre-david-perez-sanudo-asier-altuna-y-txani-rodriguez-para-dialogar-sobre-cine-y-literatura-vasca","title":{"rendered":"ZINEBI RE\u00daNE A KATIXA AGIRRE, DAVID P\u00c9REZ SA\u00d1UDO, ASIER ALTUNA Y TXANI RODR\u00cdGUEZ PARA DIALOGAR SOBRE CINE Y LITERATURA VASCA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ZINEBI \u2013 International Festival of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao<\/strong> \u2013 organised by Bilbao Town Hall \u2013 is making a start on activities ahead of the 65th Festival (to be staged between 10 and 17 November) with an encounter between female writers and directors, Euskal zinema eta literatura, tomorrow 26 October at Bira Kulturgunea (Calle Ronda, 2).<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>This event, which seeks to mirror the strong ties between cinema and literature in Euskadi, will be in a round-table format, featuring two directors and two writers:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul><li><strong>Katixa Agirre<\/strong> (Vitoria-Gasteiz, 1981), author of novels such as <em>Atertu arte itxaron <\/em><em>(Elkar, 2015) \u2013 translated into Spanish as <em>Los turistas desganados<\/em> (Pre-textos, 2017)-, Amek ez dute<\/em> (Elkar, 2019) \u2013 in Spanish, <em>Las madres no<\/em> (Tr\u00e1nsito, 2019)- or <em>Berriz, zentauro<\/em> (Elkar, 2022) \u2013 in Spanish, <em>De nuevo centauro<\/em> (Tr\u00e1nsito, 2022). She also holds a Ph.D. in Audiovisual Communication, and lectures at the University of the Basque Country (UPV\/EHU).<\/li>\r\n\r\n<li>Director <strong>Asier Altuna<\/strong> (Bergara, 1969), responsible for feature films such as <em>Aupa Etxebeste<\/em> (2005), <em>Bertsolari<\/em> (2011), <em>Amama<\/em> (2015) or <em>Hondalea abismo marino<\/em> (2021), among others. He has also directed short films such as <em>Txotx<\/em> (1997), <em>Artalde<\/em> (premiered at ZINEBI in 2008, and subsequently screened at over 100 festivals), <em>Zela Trovke \u2013 Cortando hierba<\/em> (2013) or <em>Soroa<\/em> (2014).<\/li>\r\n\r\n<li>Scriptwriter and film director <strong>David P\u00e9rez Sa\u00f1udo<\/strong> (Bilbao, 1987), winner of a Goya Award for best adapted screenplay (with Marina Par\u00e9s) for his first feature film as director, <em>Ane<\/em> (2020). He has also directed short films such as <em>Agrio<\/em> (2023), which will be in the next ZINEBI competition line-up, Vatios (also premiered at ZINEBI, in 2021), Un coche cualquiera (2019) or <em>Aprieta, pero raramente ahoga<\/em> (premiered at ZINEBI in 2017).<\/li>\r\n\r\n<li>Writer and journalist Txani Rodr\u00edguez (Llodio, 1977), winner of the 2021 Basque Country Literature Prize in Spanish for Los \u00faltimos rom\u00e1nticos (Seix Barral, 2020). She had previously published Si quieres, puedes quedarte aqu\u00ed (Tres Hermanas, 2016), Agosto (Lengua de Trapo, 2013) and Lo que ser\u00e1 de nosotros (Erein, 2012), and there is also space in her work for story books, comics and children\u2019s literature. <\/li>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"fake-h3\"><h6>BRIDGES BETWEEN LITERATURE AND CINEMA<\/h6><\/div>\r\n\r\n<p>As Katixa Agirre points out, <strong>\u201cover the last two decades, the proliferation of films in Basque has been accompanied by a larger number of books taken to the screen\u201d<\/strong>. Among these, she cites adaptations such as the version by Imanol Rayo in 2011 from Bernardo Atxaga\u2019s novel <em>Bi anai<\/em> (1985) or the film version by Jabi Elortegi in 2009 of Anjel Lertxundi\u2019s <em>Zorion perfektua<\/em> (2002).<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>This relationship, \u201cfar from breaking down, would appear to be gathering strength\u201d, claims Agirre, pointing out new examples which continue to unite Basque literature and cinema.
