With the title \u201cA\/Z Zulueta in\u00e9dito\u201d, this is a total of almost eight hours of material which was thought to be lost, or the existence of which there were practically no records.<\/strong> Their timeframe covers five decades: from the 1930s \u2013 when the films were being shot by Iv\u00e1n\u2019s parents \u2013 up to the late 1980s.\r\n\r\nIn view of the quantity of material to be viewed, ZINEBI has decided to include only the last of the screenings of this 5-session cycle curated by Josetxo Cerd\u00e1n Los Arcos and Miguel Fern\u00e1ndez Labayen<\/strong> during the 65th Festival (specifically, Wednesday 15 November), and the other four will be screened before ZINEBI officially begins at the Golem Alh\u00f3ndiga Cinemas, tomorrow 2 November and Friday 3 November<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n\u2022 Thursday 2 November \u2013 17:30 (Golem 7)\r\nSession 1: Las pel\u00edculas de Consuelo y Antonio + Aloha (131 min.)<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThis first session features the first two programmes in the \u201cA\/Z Zulueta in\u00e9dito\u201d cycle. It starts off with the films made by Consuelo Vergarajauregui Ubarrechena and Antonio de Zulueta y Besson, Iv\u00e1n Zulueta\u2019s parents (including their honeymoon, boat trips in the Cantabrian Sea, footage from the San Sebasti\u00e1n Film Festival with Kirk Douglas and family footage), and finally one of Iv\u00e1n\u2019s first short films.\r\nIt then shows footage centring on Villa Aloha, the Zulueta family\u2019s mansion and an essential feature of the filmmaker\u2019s universe, located on Paseo Duque de Baena, with spectacular views of San Sebasti\u00e1n\u2019s bay.\r\n\r\n\u2022 Thursday 2 November \u2013 20:00 (Golem 7)\r\nSession 2: La celebraci\u00f3n de la carne (70 min.)<\/strong>\r\n\r\nIf Zulueta\u2019s queer sensitivities have occasionally been highlighted, this programme contains a number of encounters with sexuality with its many and varied manifestations.\r\n\r\n\u2022 Friday 3 November \u2013 17:30 (Golem 7)\r\nSession 3: Fugas y escapadas + Viaje al final de la noche (128 min.)<\/strong>\r\n\r\nA session divided into two very different parts: the first hour dwells on Iv\u00e1n Zulueta\u2019s physical and mental journeys from Paris to Morocco, and stopping over in California too: the second retrieves footage of fiestas with girl friends and acquaintances, wild encounters. Pleasure as an artistic and political expression alongside Cecilia Roth, Luis Cobos, Vicente Ameztoy, Juan Cruz Unzurrunzaga, Antonio Gasset and Javier Gurruchaga, among many others.\r\n\r\n\u2022 Friday 3 November \u2013 20:00 (Golem 7)\r\nSession 4: About Arrebato<\/em> (55 min.)<\/strong>\r\n\r\nArrebato<\/em> is one of Spanish cinema\u2019s most celebrated films. In this session Zulueta portrays ideas and feelings developed when he was preparing the best remembered of his films.\r\n\r\n\u2022 Wednesday 15 November \u2013 19:00 (Golem 3)\r\nSession 5: Apuntes y bocetos (89 min.)<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe last session in the cycle ponders on how far Iv\u00e1n Zulueta\u2019s work could have gone. This session contains a number of intuitive suggestions as to the direction his career could have taken.\r\n\r\nThis session will be held as part of the 65th ZINEBI Festival, immediately after \u201cTrabajar con (y desde) el archivo [Working with (and from) the archives] at the Azkuna Zentroa\u2019s Sala Bastida, with the director of Filmoteca Espa\u00f1ola Valeria Camporesi<\/strong>; co-curator of the \u201cA\/Z Zulueta in\u00e9dito\u201d cycle Miguel Fern\u00e1ndez Labayen<\/strong>; the chief researcher on the joint research project with El\u00edas Querejeta Zine Eskola (EQZE) in the ZINEBI deposit at Filmoteca Vasca, Santiago Aguilar; Pablo La Parra P\u00e9rez<\/strong>, advisor to the San Sebasti\u00e1n Film Festival archive project; and Pablo Maravi<\/strong> and Libe Belandia<\/strong>, representing the research project VideoFlux (UPV\/EHU \u2013 University of the Basque Country), focusing on Basque videoart audiovisual archives.\r\n\r\n
PLENA PAUSA<\/h6><\/div>\r\n\r\nZINEBI will be celebrating Zulueta\u2019s work \u2013 by way of an epilogue to its 65th Festival \u2013 with a performance by J from \u201cLos Planetas\u201d at the Arriaga Theatre on 18 November<\/strong>, presenting the Basque Country premiere of \u201cPlena Pausa\u201d<\/strong>, the musicalisation project for part of the Gipuzkoa director\u2019s film archives, premiered at Madrid\u2019s Cine Dor\u00e9, for which J will be accompanied by guitarist and vocalist Natalia Drago, with Miguel Mart\u00edn on keyboards, Roberto Escudero on drums, and guitarists David Rodr\u00edguez and Jaime Stinus. \u201cPlena Pausa\u201d came out in vinyl and on DVD in September, but for the live performance J has reserved some songs composed to be \u2013 for the moment \u2013 performed exclusively live.
