MENTORING SESSIONS 2025
Do you have an ongoing animation project you’d like to run past us? We’d love to hear about it.
The ZINEBI Animation Lab at the International Festival of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao, ZINEBI 67, is offering you a panel of professional practitioners across a range of disciplines on 26, 27 and 28 November. In a series of customised meetings, they will help you move forward with your project, and advise you on how to present it.
If you have a project for a short film, series or feature film, you can submit it to networking@zinebi.eus from today until 10 November. A team composed of director Ane Inés Landeta, producer Iván Miñambres and screenwriter Pedro Rivero will select six projects, to be announced on 14 November.
To apply, simply fill in this form and send the material required — submissions will be handled with ZINEBI’s guarantee of confidentiality.
CONDITIONS
Each project selected will entitle a representative (producer or director) to take part in various individual sessions with the team of consultants.
The festival will cover accommodation for three nights for those travelling from outside the Territory of Bizkaia.
Participants will receive accreditation from ZINEBI granting access to all festival screenings and activities during their stay. They will also be expected to prepare a presentation of their project for the final day of mentoring, including the likely results of the consultations.
The working language of the sessions will be either English or Spanish, depending on the consultant involved in the process.
MENTORING TEAM
Pedro Rivero (screenwriter and director), Sébastien Sperer (member of the Annecy Festival selection committee for over twenty years), Daniel Suljic (artistic director of Animafest Zagreb), and Ivana and Thomas Volda (filmmakers).
The projects selected must be submitted in English before 21 November.
The sessions will be held in the Sala Bastida at Azkuna Zentroa (Plaza Arriquibar 4, Bilbao).

Selected projects will also have the opportunity for a follow-up consultation three months after the ZINEBI Animation Lab comes to an end.
