Álvaro Gómez-Pidal
Álvaro Gómez-Pidal (Madrid, 1989) is a photographer, filmmaker, and visual artist. He holds a diploma in Photography Directing from Madrid’s ECAM Cinematographic and Audiovisual School. His work crosses documentary and experimental formats, exploring time, memory, and movement. He directed the short films Azinheira (2021), La edad del movimiento (2020), 143, 206, 268 (2019) and Ferrytale (2019). As director of photography, he works on the feature films Malditos Arrebatados (WIP) and Deprés de la nit (WIP). He exhibited at Revela-T (2017) and Flecha (2016), and has received mentions in the Sony World Photography Awards, Exposure Award, and Celso & Manolo Prizes. His work in audiovisual installation and photography has earned recognition at Liquida Photo Festival Grant 2023 (Turin), Encontros da Imagem 2021 (Braga), British Journal of Photography–Arles Open Walls 220, and LOOK Photo Biennial 2019 (Liverpool).
